Part of the Territories Cycle, Roadtrip is an immersive, sensory performance inspired by the road movie, created for toddlers and the adults who accompany them. The show explores the languages of vocal harmony, sound art, performance and video, in a space shared by performers and audience.
Through this imagined journey, we hope to give young children a taste for adventure and discovery. We invite them to listen closely and look carefully, to savour the extraordinary things the land has to offer, in the immense as well as the tiny. We want to gently transport them, to open their imagination to Quebec’s landscapes, their diversity and their seasons, and to widen their familiar horizons for the length of a shared journey. Roadtrip is an aesthetic experience through which we hope, in a way, to connect children to what binds us all together: the land.
Les Incomplètes’ third creative cycle, the Territories Cycle, focuses on the relationship between individuals, communities and the land. It looks at the bridges between past and present, at the notion of dwelling, and at ways of (re)discovering our everyday surroundings and the singular, marvellous things hidden in the ordinary. Begun in 2021, the Territories Cycle explores both geographical and imaginary spaces, seeking to affirm the presence in the world of those who inhabit and transform them.
