She is a dancer.
He is a contrabassist.
A vast space stands between them.
From the shore, she beholds the sweeping view.
The music, flowing,
Like the song of a whale,
Calls her out to sea.
Slowly, her body curves with the waves.
In the deep, she sees colour,
Another world,
Life.
A soft and lively duo,
She dances with the wave,
Rocking,
Into the abyss.
From the shore, she beholds the sweeping view.
The Show
Combining dance, contrabass, kinetic structures and theatre, Streams takes the very young voyageur on a journey of the senses, delving into the depths of water and its inherent poetry. Through play with light, sound and movement, Les Incomplètes offer to rediscover water, that vital and vibrant matter that we all carry deep within.
For this production, Sophie Grelié (cie Éclats), Recto-Verso and Les Gros Becs offered residencies to Les Incomplètes. The show was workshopped as a “Banc d’essai” [test workshop] at Petits Bonheurs Montréal in May 2013, and created at the Théâtre jeunesse Les Gros Becs in October 2013. The creation was made possible thanks to the support of the CALQ, Canada Council for the Arts, and the Entente de développement culturel MCCCF- Ville de Québec.
